When Adar Meets Reality: A Strengthening Festival Day at Machshava School

At Machshava School, the arrival of the month of Adar was marked with a special festival day focused on emotional renewal, relief, and strengthening the heart.

Adar is known in Jewish tradition as the month when joy increases. But this year, that joy sits alongside a complex security reality. As students continue to navigate uncertainty, the school’s staff understood something vital: children need more than lessons and structure. They need reassurance. They need emotional space. They need light.

True education goes far beyond academics. It is about nurturing resilience, building inner strength, and creating a sense of safety – even when the outside world feels unstable.

Throughout the day, lively Adar music filled the activity hall. Students sang, danced, and celebrated together.

This day revealed the resilience of young people who choose joy even when circumstances are complicated. It demonstrated that strength does not mean pretending everything is easy. It means finding light within the darkness.

The school’s principal, Shimon Reis, closed the day with heartfelt words:

“Our role as educators is to strengthen the children’s spirits and give them tools of faith, confidence, and joy. We pray that these days will be transformed into gladness and happiness. Purim Sameach.”

At Migdal Ohr, education is paired with emotional care. Stability is woven into daily life. And children are given not only opportunities, but belief – belief in themselves and in their future.

This Purim, you can be part of that strength. By sponsoring a child at Migdal Ohr, you provide more than education and care. You provide stability in uncertain times.
