Peace Week at Pninat Ohr School: A Celebration of Values and Unity

The students of Pninat Ohr Elementary and Middle School recently embarked on a transformative journey during their annual Peace Week. This unique programme brought the values of peace to life with a highlight event featuring human tableaux – living depictions of inspiring quotes and concepts centred around peace.
The creative and thought-provoking tableaux were just the beginning. The week-long initiative explored peace on multiple levels: peace between individuals, global harmony, and fostering tranquillity within families. Students actively engaged with these concepts, connecting them to their own experiences and the challenges of modern life.
Experiential Learning: Activities Rooted in Peace
To fully immerse the students in the essence of peace, the school organised a variety of interactive and creative activities:
Treasure Hunt with a Purpose: Students participated in a treasure hunt that delved into biblical sources, discovering teachings about peace in sacred texts.
Individual Tasks: Thoughtful activities encouraged personal reflection and the application of peaceful values in everyday interactions.
Peace Parade: A school-wide parade celebrated the spirit of harmony and showcased the students’ commitment to spreading peace.
Shabbat Shalom Preparations: The week concluded with a meaningful finale as students prepared for a peaceful Shabbat at home, fostering calm and unity within their families.

“We place immense importance on cultivating the values of peace among our students,” said Mrs. Ilana Ohayon, the school’s deputy principal. “Peace starts from within – between a person and themselves, between friends, and within the family. We are delighted to provide our students with the tools to apply this essential value in their lives.”
