Students of the Machshava School participated in a special and empowering carpentry activity. As part of the activity, the students built an impressive camping table with a canopy entirely by hand, demonstrating full co-operation and a unique sense of creativity.

During the workshop, the students engaged in various stages of construction: they sanded the wooden planks, painted them, drilled, screwed in bolts, and learned how to assemble a stable and functional structure. Beyond the physical work, the students gained significant life skills, including technical abilities, creativity development, problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in teamwork.

The activity provided the students with a sense of accomplishment and deep meaning. Not only did they succeed in building a useful piece of furniture with their own hands, but they also made an important contribution to all the school’s students. The new seating area will serve as an enjoyable and special meeting spot for everyone, and knowing they were responsible for creating it empowers them.

A carpentry workshop greatly contributes to the process of empowerment and personal development for the students. The structured process of planning, building, and completing a successful project instills a sense of capability and achievement while enhancing responsibility, precision, and perseverance. Additionally, the activity offers the students an opportunity to develop new skills.

At the Migdal Ohr educational institutions, there is a strong emphasis on integrating practical educational activities, stemming from the belief that meaningful education includes experiential learning alongside personal and social growth. This project, which showcased the students’ diverse talents, serves as a living example of these values.
