A Joyous Wedding and the Power of Transformation
This month, a truly moving celebration took place at Migdal Ohr’s Zoharim Youth Village – the wedding of Nechemia Lutkin, a graduate whose life story embodies the very essence of transformation.
When Nechemia first arrived at Zoharim as a ninth-grade student, he was part of a lively and challenging class – full of energy but often unsettled. The young boy who once struggled to find his place has since grown into a remarkable man, standing proudly under the chuppah beside his bride, Efrat.
His journey is a testament to the power of love, structure, and belief – and to the dedicated mentors and supporters who never gave up on him. Through their care and commitment, Nechemia not only found direction and purpose, but became an inspiration to others.
Among the guests celebrating that day were several Zoharim alumni, who expressed deep pride and joy in witnessing this milestone. One shared, “It’s such a joy to be here, to see what’s possible.”
Those words capture what the day represented: hope fulfilled, potential realised, and a future built on the foundations of compassion and opportunity.
During the ceremony, Nechemia’s heartfelt words resonated deeply with everyone present:
“Every moment of effort, frustration, difficulty, disappointment, and doubt you may experience in your work at the village – all of it disappears in the face of the faith that, God willing, many more of our children will reach this moment one day.”
His message was a reminder that every success story like his is built on countless small acts of kindness, guidance, and generosity – from staff, donors, and supporters who believe in every child’s potential.
Today, Nechemia and Efrat begin a new chapter together – one filled with light, faith, and hope. Their wedding stands as a powerful symbol of what Migdal Ohr strives to achieve every day: helping children grow, thrive, and one day, build beautiful Jewish homes of their own.
