Migdal Ohr, a leading organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and at-risk youth in Israel, celebrated the launch of its new community and office in France with an extraordinary fundraising event: the Beacon of Hope Dinner.
Over 120 guests attended the evening, a night of inspiration and purpose. A highlight was a deeply moving conversation between Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman, founder of Migdal Ohr, and French i24 News presenter Benjamin Petrover. Their discussion brought to life Migdal Ohr’s critical work and ongoing efforts to transform the lives of vulnerable children.
Founder of Migdal Ohr, Rabbi Grossman, a distinguished spiritual leader from Israel, delivered an uplifting message of hope, unity, and the importance of supporting Israel’s most vulnerable children. His dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child serves as a guiding light for the Jewish community in Israel and beyond. The evening was filled with his inspiring energy, bringing everyone together as one family and reinforcing a shared commitment to compassion, unity, and the well-being of our brothers and sisters in Israel.
Ariel Lavi, Migdal Ohr’s International Director, shared a heartfelt personal story about spending 289 as a combat soldier in Gaza and saving people’s lives, losing his brother-in-law to the war and helping his widow sister who was left with six children, his time with the organisation and its profound impact on him and countless others, particularly in response to the tragic events of 7th October.
Amit Fraser, Executive Director of Migdal Ohr UK, shared, “In response to this tragedy of 7th October, Migdal Ohr quickly mobilised to provide essential relief to all those in dire need. We have been working tirelessly to support displaced families, offering food, shelter, education, and emotional care to those who have lost everything. One of the most devastating outcomes of this war is the increasing number of orphans who have lost their parents and sense of security. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we can bring hope and transform the lives of countless young people in their time of greatest need, giving them comfort and love. “
This event would not have been possible without the unwavering support and heartfelt dedication of our wonderful friends and the members of Migdal Ohr’s new France committee. We are deeply grateful to President Armand Oiknine, Chair of the Committee Alexandra Fitoussi, Julian Nizard and Laurie Benoliel. Their tireless efforts and commitment played a crucial role in making this evening a reality, and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity and hard work. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the dinner raised essential funds for the ‘Orphans Plan for Life ‘ programme, which will support over 800 children who have tragically lost parents, including those affected by the recent events in Israel.
This impactful evening marks the beginning of a vibrant and compassionate community in France, united in its mission to bring hope and stability to Israel’s most vulnerable children.
