Last Friday, the second-grade students of Machshava School celebrated a momentous milestone: their Chumash ceremony. Held with honour and joy at the Metivta Migdal Ohr synagogue, the event radiated pride, spirituality, and educational achievement.

The school’s principal, Mr Shimon Reis, spoke about the occasion’s significance, quoting the verse, “Torah is better than all merchandise”. He emphasised how the Torah offers wisdom and eternal values that surpass temporary successes, guiding students toward a life of meaning and purpose.

A highlight of the celebration was a heartfelt play performed by the students, illustrating the Chumash as a cherished treasure and demonstrating its profound relevance in daily life. Their presentation deeply moved the audience, further enriched by spirited singing and dancing that filled the room with warmth and enthusiasm.

Each student left the event with lasting memories and meaningful keepsakes. After enjoying refreshments, the children received their very own Chumash – a symbol of their personal connection to the Torah and its timeless lessons.

At Migdal Ohr institutions, events like this reflect a broader mission: instilling eternal values that shape students into future leaders with purpose and integrity.
