Many of the children in our Mishpachtonim foster care families are not sleeping in their beds. Instead, they are gathered in the shelters beneath their homes.
These are children who have already faced more hardship than most – children who, through Migdal Ohr’s foster care families, finally found stability, love, and a place to belong. Yet tonight, the sound of sirens changes everything.
Mattresses are laid out on the floor. Families gather close together. And in the midst of fear and uncertainty, something remarkable happens – the adults turn these moments into something the children can manage, even understand. What could feel overwhelming is gently reshaped into something that feels, at least for a moment, like an adventure.
Our incredible foster parents are the heart of this strength. They stay calm, even when it’s difficult. They tell stories, sing songs, and hold small hands tightly in the dark, offering reassurance until the quiet returns.
These are not just acts of care – they are acts of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication.
