The boys of Zoharim Youth Village recently took part in a major football tournament and returned home with not only an impressive 3rd place finish, but also the prestigious Sportsmanship Trophy.

Led by Zoharim graduate and coach Yosef Chaim, the team represented the Youth Village with pride, determination, and heart, demonstrating the powerful values that lie at the centre of everything Zoharim stands for.

While the victories on the pitch were exciting, the greatest achievement was the way the boys carried themselves throughout the tournament. Through teamwork, discipline, perseverance, respect, and unity, they showed that sport can be a powerful tool for personal growth and healing.

For many of the boys at Zoharim, football is far more than just a game. It provides structure, confidence, belonging, and a positive outlet. It teaches them how to work together, overcome challenges, build resilience, and believe in themselves and their futures.

Coach Yosef Chaim, himself a graduate of Zoharim, shared how proud he was of the boys and the recognition they received for their sportsmanship:

“For the team to be recognized for sportsmanship reflects beautifully on who they are as individuals, as a team, and as representatives of the entire Zoharim family.”

His journey from student to mentor is a powerful example of the long-lasting impact Zoharim has on the lives of vulnerable young people. Today, he is helping guide the next generation of boys with the same care, encouragement, and values that once helped shape him.

At Zoharim Youth Village, every activity is an opportunity to help young people grow not only academically or athletically, but emotionally and personally too. Through sport, mentorship, education, and therapeutic support, the boys are given the tools they need to rebuild their confidence and create brighter futures.

We are incredibly proud of the team for this wonderful achievement and for the way they represented the entire Zoharim family both on and off the field.

Help us continue providing life-changing opportunities, support, and mentorship for vulnerable youth at Zoharim Youth Village.
