On Sunday, 16th of June, Migdal Ohr UK hosted its first dinner quiz in aid of it’s unique Foster Family care programmes.
Over 100 people were in attendance for the event to support the charity and raise funds for one of Migdal Ohr’s vital new initiatives.
Philippa Cohen generously hosted the event in memory of her late mother, the respected Jewish Philanthropist Joy Cohen Z”L, with guest speaker Keith Fraser the YouTube presenter and Israel advocate, who spoke about the duty of everyone to give light to the children from disadvantaged and abused backgrounds, thus supporting Migdal Ohr, which itself means ‘Tower of Light.’
Amit Fraser, Executive Director of Migdal Ohr UK who also addressed the event, said:
“Israel has made tremendous progress in improving welfare and development of the country but still, over 260,000 children remain at-risk in Israel, a figure we cannot live with especially considering this is one of the highest poverty rates in the developed world.”

Guests remarked on how they were moved and inspired by the work of the charity, and on the night, successfully raised funds for its Foster Family Care Programme, in which every foster family looks after twelve children and teenagers in a home-like environment enabling them to thrive and build the life-skills that they require for adulthood.
The event encouraged those in attendance to be conscious of Israel’s most challenging social issues affecting the future of the country – its youth, in order to build the country for a bright and promising future for all.
