Today, the heart of the Jewish nation is shattered. Sadly, the dead bodies of Kfir, his brother Ariel, and their mother Shiri Bibas, together with Oded Lifshitz, 84, have been brought home, not in life, but in death. For over 500 days, we prayed, hoped, and begged for their safe return. Instead, we are left grieving the unbearable loss of innocence, of a future stolen, of lives that should never have been taken.
Kfir and Ariel should have been among the children of Israel who deserve a safe and opportunistic future. Instead, they were held hostage, denied the warmth of home, and returned to us lifeless. No words can capture the depth of this pain for us all.
And Oded Lifshitz—an 84-year-old man who dedicated his life to peace and humanity. He was a man of kindness, dignity, and unwavering belief in every life’s value. Yet, his own life was taken without mercy.
Today, we are not just mourning. We are crying out in collective agony. We are one nation, one family, and we grieve as one. But we will not turn away even in the depths of our sorrow. We will not stop demanding the safe return of every hostage still held in captivity. May the memories of Kfir, Ariel, Shiri, and Oded be a blessing. And may we, as Am Israel, never stop shining light into the darkness.
As a children’s charity, Migdal Ohr today continues to support and provide welfare to people in need in Israel. We will persist with our mission—to nurture, educate, and uplift the most vulnerable in our society, ensuring that every child has the chance to grow up in safety, dignity, and hope. In the face of loss, we reaffirm our commitment to standing strong for the children of Israel to build a future where they are protected, empowered, and free to thrive.
Am Israel Chai.
