Growing Confidence at Afikei Ohr Youth Village

At Afikei Ohr Youth Village, growth is more than something that happens in the greenhouses – it happens within each young woman rebuilding her life.
Last week, our female entrepreneurs proudly represented Afikei Ohr Village at a local high-tech conference, setting up a sales booth to showcase handmade farm products and natural cosmetics they created themselves. Using herbs and produce grown on campus, the girls transformed their agricultural learning into real-world business experience – developing confidence, communication skills, and financial independence along the way.
The students enjoyed a special hands-on concrete workshop. Together, the girls created beautifully decorated stepping stones that will form a unique pathway through the campus – a lasting symbol of resilience and renewal. They also gathered in the agricultural classroom to explore the parts of the grain, discuss white flour versus whole wheat, and prepare fresh pitas with olive oil and za’atar, tomatoes from the greenhouse, croutons, and homemade lemonade.
Every activity, whether agricultural, educational, or entrepreneurial, is designed with one goal in mind: to empower young women with the skills, confidence, and belief that they can succeed at anything they set their minds to.
Creativity, growth, and a deep connection to the land continue to shape not just pathways through the village – but pathways toward brighter futures.
