At Zoharim Youth Village, students and staff gathered for a deeply meaningful ceremony to mark Yom HaShoah – a moment of reflection, remembrance, and connection to the history and legacy of the Holocaust.
A particularly powerful part of the ceremony came from students who recently returned from an educational journey to Poland. They shared their personal reflections, speaking about the profound impact of walking through sites of unimaginable tragedy, and the responsibility they now carry to bear witness and ensure these stories are never forgotten.
Their words brought history into the present, reminding all those in attendance of the enduring importance of memory, identity, and resilience.
Zachi Hayon, Zoharim Village Director, reflected on the significance of the moment:
“When our students stand and share what they have seen and felt, they become the living bridge between past and future. It is our duty not only to remember, but to ensure these stories continue to be told with strength, dignity, and hope.”
The ceremony concluded with a shared sense of unity and purpose, as the Zoharim community reaffirmed its commitment – not only to remembrance, but to building a future grounded in compassion, understanding, and responsibility.
